How Can We Keep Our First Love?
By Paul Norcross
Aug 2001
How can we fall more in love with our Beloved Savior? By spending time hearing even His slightest whispers of love to His Bride. Who is this Bride? It is those who continually seek Him as their First Love.
Here’s an illustration of something He shared to me this morning as I prepared for the day:
My son, come alongside unto Me always. For though I am near and easily found in the spirit, yet few there be who will find Me, because few there are who seek Me in the spirit.
You see, the Spirit is the dwelling place of the Father. He eagerly awaits those who will seek Him in the garden, as Adam, His beloved man, did. Created for holding His affection, Adam’s loss was the Father’s too. Yet now in each generation there are those who seek the Father’s heart in the place where He invites – the Spirit where He dwells.
If you would come to this place daily, you would be refreshed. If you would go your own way in the earth, and refrain from entering the presence of the Father, then you would spurn His love, and be a son of man, and not a son of His love. There is no secret to His love, only man’s diligence to seek it, and faithfully enter into it as rest and refreshing. For surely all who seek shall find the Father waiting for them with open arms, and an eager heart to welcome them into His love.
I have sent the Holy Spirit to show the way to the Father. Be not slack, for in no other time have I poured out so much of My Spirit unto so many people. That which I have given, I will never take away. And that which I judge shall be judged forever. So see that you receive My Spirit. You will know you have received His fullness when you have embraced the Father, and faithfully labored to enter His rest. This shall you do continually, that you may abide in Him now, and forever.
