THE WORD, REVELATION AND PROSPERITY

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63 NKJV
You must understand the relationship between the written Word and revelation. The written Word gives us the general understanding of the will of God. Indeed, the Word of God is the will of God. Revelation from God gives us the specific understanding of the will of God. The written Word paints the broad brushstrokes; revelation gives us the fine details. For instance, the written Word tells us TO lay hands on the sick; revelation tells us HOW and WHEN to lay hands on the sick. Finally, the written Word is the judge by which all revelation is evaluated. You lead captive every thought to the obedience of Christ.
Now, when it comes to prosperity, we must see what the written Word says, align our lives accordingly, and then believe God to give us the specific details by revelation.
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
3 John 2 NKJV
The Greek word for ‘prosper' is EUODOO, meaning ‘to have a good journey' or ‘to do well on the road.' Everyone who has ever taken a journey knows that every journey has a goal, an end point, and that each step forward should take us a step closer to that end point, that goal. Our goal is Heaven. To prosper means that you have good journey, a successful, joyful travel experience as you go to Heaven. 3 John 2 tells us that this is the will of God.
A highway shall be there, and a road ( a way - KVJ ), and it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, but it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, shall not go astray. Isa 35:8 NKJV
Jesus said, " I AM the Way..." He is not only our Companion on the highway of holiness; He IS the highway of holiness. Anything that distracts or hinders us from walking on that highway has to go out of our lives. This is the first principle of prosperity. The Holy Spirit will show you by revelation what specific things in your life are hindering you from walking straightly on the highway of holiness, if you ask Him. I know a man of God who was highly anointed and very wealthy whose life and ministry was destroyed by hidden sin. I pray God that will not be said of you and I...
By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches and honor and life. Prov 22:4 NKJV
Yes...THOSE kinds of riches! And honor, and a good, long life! Humility translates into hard work, with a thankful and joyful heart. I thank God every day that I can work hard on a good project, something that creates wealth, both spiritually and physically, for me and others. The fear of the Lord - do you begin to realize that everything in your life revolves around your relationship with God? We need to get our eyes off of the devil, the world, the government, and the sin around us, and on to Him. He will give us the practical answers to all the problems that we face. The time you take to hear from Him each morning, when He gives that daily revelation manna from Heaven, will be, in a very practical sense, the most valuable part of your day.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season,
whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. Ps 1:2-3 NKJV
God takes ordinary men, humble vessels, and makes them extraordinary. I once ministered to a whole group of very discouraged senior men of God. Do you know that not one of them could testify to reading at least five chapters of the Word of God everyday? You can't have a fire if you have no fuel, no wood to burn. How can you meditate in the Word, just joyfully ponder the Word of God, if your mind is full of the daily news, the daily confusion, the daily distractions, and no Word?
Do you realize that we have been talking all of this time about prosperity, and I haven't once mentioned tithing or giving? They have their place....they are important...but there is more to having a good journey to Heaven than just tithing or giving.
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love. Gal 5:6 NKJV
When Christ Jesus is born in you, giving you eternal life, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision gives you spiritual strength. But spiritual faith is energized effectively in you by the love of God in your mind and heart that you manifest, and this is what makes you powerful, bless God forever! Love energizes faith, which produces results ( it's interesting that divorce almost always leads to poverty ). Love brings prosperity - real, honest, faithful, passionate love!
Now we can talk about giving...
Love is always the basis of giving. Giving is the expression of love. A giver is welcome wherever he goes, perhaps initially because of his gifts, but ultimately because of his love.
Give, and it will be given to you... Luke 6:37 NKJV
Ask the Holy Spirit for the practical application of these principles in your life. You may have to make radical, wholesale changes in your lifestyle, like when the Holy Spirit told me to turn off my television, and give up the internet news. But believe me, I have seen the fruit, and you will too. Everything He asks of you is for your benefit, dear one. He wants you to prosper, to be led in a good way, to have a joyful journey. Rejoice!
Remember, dear ones, we must be about our Father's business...
